Ministries at Midway Heights

  • Children’s Ministries

    Sunday Mornings: Nursery:  Newborn to 4 years old both during Sunday School and Worship Service.

    Children's Sunday School:  Sunday School for all ages starts at 9:45 am.

    Children’s Church:  5 years old to 3rd grade.  Our children’s church is a time during the worship service at 11:00 am just for the kids to help them learn and grow.

    Wednesday Nights:  During the school year, we have a TeamKID discipleship program for the kids from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Please see our "TeamKID" tab below for more detailed information about the current curriculum or to register your child for TeamKID.  The curriculum program takes a break during the summer after school gets out, but keep checking back for any special summer events, activities and fun that gets planned to keep the kids engaged and in touch with each other!

    Vacation Bible School:  Every summer we hold a week long Vacation Bible School from 8:30 am to 11:30 am on Monday through Friday of that week.  Please see our "Special Events" page for details and to sign up!

  • TeamKID: Kids in Discipleship

    For Kids in Kindergarten through 5th Grades

    TeamKID is a fun, high-energy ministry that encourages kids to know Jesus Christ and to grow in a relationship with Him.  That's why TeamKID ends with KID.  KID stands for Kids in Discipleship!  All parts of TeamKID - Bible stories, Scripture memory, mission activities, life application, and recreation games -  connect to teach life lessons to kids.

    TeamKID meets every Wednesday night from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and runs from the middle of August (after school starts) until the following May (when school ends).  

    For the 2023-2024 school year, the TeamKID curriculum was "Faithful Promises"! This study lead elementary-aged kids to discover the steadfast faithfulness of God through Old Testament promises. Children explored the details of the major covenants promised in the Old Testament and connect the bigger reality of God's faithfulness to their every circumstance. Through the covenants God made to Adam, Noah, Moses, David, and others, kids can learn the connection to the God of steadfast faithfulness, even when they are unfaithful, and see how all of God's promises are ultimately fulfilled in Jesus.

    TeamKID will be starting again in August of 2024. More information will be coming soon!

  • Upward Sports

    Promoting the Discovery of Jesus through Sports!

    Midway Heights Baptist Church became a partnering church with Upward Sports for the first time last winter.  We had over 80 kids in our community between the ages of Kindergarten through 5th Grades participate in our first winter Basketball/Cheerleading program that we sponsored from December 2022 through February 2023.  Registration started towards the end of September 2022 and the first practices took place in early December 2022.   Games started around the first of January 2023 and continued through February.

    The Upward Sports program was such a success, that we have decided to sponsor another basketball/cheerleading program in the winter of 2023!  Feel free to check back frequently for updates on when the next registration starts.

  • Vacation Bible School

    Operation Arctic - The Coolest Book on the Planet (2024)

    Every year we host a Vacation Bible School one week during the summer for kids who have just finished Pre-K through 5th grade. We have rotations including Music, Crafts, Bible Study, and Missions. This is a week filled with excitement and helps the children grow in their faith!  Visit our Special Events page for more information and to sign-up!

    We recently held VBS for 2023 during the month of July.  It was a great success!  We had over 84 kids register to participate!  Here's what the kids learned...

    At Zoomerang, the kids marveled at the unforgettable wildlife, culture, and beauty of Australia while exploring the wonder and value of life, from the lives of pre-born babies to eternal life in the kingdom of God. During this pro-life VBS, kids discovered that life is valuable. From the tiniest to the oldest, each person is made in the image of God—wonderfully designed to know Him and live for Him!

  • Youth Group

    For Kids in 6th Grade through High School

    Our student ministry seeks to lead Middle and High School students into a transforming encounter with Jesus as well as offering a place to grow and cultivate a continuing relationship with Jesus Christ. We also seek to create environments where students are encouraged to make wise choices, positively influence their friends, and experience personal ministry through serving others.

    • Adult Ministries

      We have a variety of adult ministries here at Midway Heights. We are seeking to help you grow in your faith and be among a community of believers.

      Sunday Morning: Sunday School - 9:45 am

      We have 5 different Sunday School classes available for adults, all studying scripture and developing relationships within their classes. This is a great way to get involved with others in the congregation.

      Wednesday Evenings: Bible Study - 7:00 pm

      Please join us as we dive into the Bible and study together on Wednesday nights.

      First Saturday of the Month: Men’s Breakfast - 8:00 am

      Men's Breakfast is focused on Food, Fellowship, and Faith. All men welcome to Men's Breakfast in the Gym on the first Saturday of each month.

      Fourth Tuesday of the Month: Women's Bible Study - 6:00 pm

      Our Women's Bible Study is an opportunity to have snacks, fellowship, and build each other up in our faith and in our congregation.

    • Outreach

      Reach Up / Reach In / Reach Out

      While we believe in serving God by serving others through mission work, we also like to reach out to the local community.  We hold both an annual Independence Day celebration and Fish Fry event for those who care to join us!  More information on those events are listed below in our list of "Ministries".

    • Independence Day Celebration!

      Come join us for food, music, games and an obstacle course for the kids, and fireworks after dark!  We will be having our Independence Day celebration on July 4th, 2024.  

      Please invite friends and family and join us as we celebrate Independence Day together!

    • Annual Fish Fry

      Every Fall we have a fish fry with some amazing homemade pies!  This year it will be on Saturday, September 21st, 2024!

      Please join us for the amazing food and fellowship! This is one of our largest outreaches, and we are so happy to reach out to our community and make new friends!
