Missions Ministry

Midway Heights Baptist Church is involved in many ministries in our community and communities around the world.  Based on Matthew 28:18-20, we believe that the purpose of the church is 3-fold:

Outreach: Meeting the spiritual needs of the lost and/or unchurched.
Missions: Meeting the physical needs of believers and nonbelievers.
Ministry: Meeting the spiritual and physical needs of those within the church.

Within our church, we offer a variety of ministry opportunities for people of all ages!  There is Sunday School every Sunday morning at 9:45 for ALL ages!  We also offer Nursery or Children’s Church for children 3rd grade and under during our Sunday morning worship service.

On Wednesday nights we have a Bible study for adults, as well as nursery, Mission Friends, Royal Ambassadors and Girls in Action for kids of all ages!

For kids in 1st-6th grades we have Children’s Bible Drill.  For more information contact the church office.

Kids in 6th through 12th grades are invited to attend Youth on Wednesday and Sunday nights.  Wednesday nights are divided into junior (6th-8th grades) and senior high (9th-12th grades) for a more focused Bible study.  On Sunday nights, youth is from 7:00-8:15 and includes a game, music, and a message from one of the youth leaders.  See our Youth page for more information!

For adults, we have a Bible study on Sunday and Wednesday nights.  We also have Baptist Men and Baptist Women’s groups that meet once a month at the church.

In Our Community

Within our community, MHBC is also involved in many missions opportunities within Columbia and the surrounding areas. Our involvement can be in the form of donations, monetary support, or volunteering for the organization. Organizations we support include Open Arms Pregnancy Center, Voluntary Action Center, Central Missouri Food Bank, Coyote Hill Christian Children’s Home, and many more.

Around the World

We are also proud to support ministries around the world.  Midway Heights Baptist Church supports churches as far away as Mexico and Ecuador as they spread the Good News around the world.
